Jojoba oil is extracted by pressing the seeds of the Simmondsia chinensis plant. It consists mainly of higher fatty acids bonded to higher alcohols. Although it is called an oil, it is actually a liquid wax. It is unique in composition and quality among all other vegetable oils.
The interesting thing about jojoba oil is that it closely resembles human sebum (which makes it a natural alternative to moisturizing creams). Jojoba oil penetrates the skin deeply and contains powerful antioxidants, is easy to apply and absorbs quickly, hydrating and healing the skin from within.
Jojoba oil has a wonderful texture and can be used as a massage oil for both the body and the face.
Jojoba oil also contributes to the health and beauty of hair – it moisturizes, adds softness and shine, improves the hair structure, and is especially suitable for dry, split, and tangled ends.
Jojoba oil is among the most preferred vegetable oils due to its molecular stability. It is resistant to oxidation and practically does not go rancid; it has an extremely long shelf life and, when added to other oils and oil blends, extends their shelf life.
Jojoba oil is versatile and is included in many homemade beauty and health recipes; it is an excellent carrier for essential oils.
Pure jojoba oil has a light golden color.
